'I DO IT FOR THE PEOPLE' / 2018
I recognized early in my career that fundraisers were positioned to transform narratives and drive capital toward people that need it most. For more than a decade I have built programs for historically and systemically marginalized communities, which have built inclusive, anti-racist policy development and economic & social opportunities across the country.
I offer great skill in turning the page on equitable practices and programming while ensuring organizational solvency which is a critical area of concern for most board leadership. My perspective has been valuable in decentralizing dominant culture as the only sound form of reason in governance and leadership in organizations that support people of color.
To date with the support of talented partners and communities, I have led the capacity building efforts for raising $38 Million in funding for organizations that support the educational, economic, and social equity for communities across the country and in local neighborhoods.
I am not a fundraiser because I pitch mission to investors, I am fundraiser because I convene partners to share in the beauty of community.
An equitable narrative celebrates and advocates for people's needs without boxing them into stories & data sets that demean them, culturally, and deny their humanity.”
